TRANSPORTATION & PARKING INFORMATION

Hellbender does not have a dedicated parking lot immediately adjacent to the venue. In cooperation with some local landowners nearby, we are happy to be able to offer some nearby paid parking options. We’ll also have a free shuttle running continuously from the Asheville Mall before, during, and after every show. See more details below!

Paid parking is available in temporary concert parking areas near the venue. Reserve parking in advance to ensure a space. Parking lots will sell out! Follow all signs for entry and exit routes within the lot, as certain driving routes within parking areas are one-way. Please note there is no parking at the venue itself, and no free parking on private property in the Thompson St vicinity.

Paid Parking Lot Addresses (for your GPS)

$30 Salamander Lot: 40 Simpson St, Asheville, NC 28803

$20 Water Dog Lot: 99 Thompson St, Asheville, NC 28803

$15 Swannanoa Lot: 208 Swannanoa River Rd, Asheville, NC 28805 (not available for every show!)

Parking spaces for the reserved, paid lots are first come, first served within your reserved lot and specific spaces cannot be “saved”. Lots open 1 hour before gates, and will remain open until 11pm after the show ends. Do not leave cars overnight. NOTE: Temporary paid parking areas may not be ADA accessible; concert attendees with ADA needs are encouraged to use the ADA drop-off at the main gates on Thompson St, or contact Hellbender management to inquire about complimentary parking (limited spaces available).

There is NO free parking in the immediate vicinity of Hellbender.

Shuttle pick-up at the Asheville Mall will be located near the back entrance to the former JC Penney, located at the south end of the complex, past Belk Department Store (use the parking nearest the former JCPenney). Turn into the mall entrance at the third traffic light, closest to Belk. Look for the Shuttle flag and A-Frame sign. Shuttles will run continuously starting 1 hour before doors open until after the show ends at 10pm and are free to ride.

Do not leave vehicles overnight at the mall. Unauthorized vehicles may be towed.

Rideshare Drop-Off & Pick-Up Address: 9 Mulvaney St, Asheville, NC 28803

Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) drop-off and pick-up must use 9 Mulvaney St to keep traffic flowing smoothly. Set 9 Mulvaney St in your rideshare app before you request your ride. Rideshare will NOT be allowed to drop guests off directly at the gates.

The designated Rideshare lot is the same area for both pick-up and drop-off at the beginning and end of the show. After the show, follow signed paths to 9 Mulvaney St Asheville, NC 28803 to be picked up. Note that surge pricing is common immediately after shows — consider waiting 15–20 minutes to request your return ride.

Guests with ADA needs may use Thompson Street for drop-off directly at the main gate. Hellbender does not maintain any private parking and all paid parking in the area is owned by neighboring properties and is not necessarily ADA compliant.

As a courtesy, the venue provides a limited number of complimentary parking spaces near the main gate for guests with ADA placards or accessible license plates, available on a first-come, first-served basis. These spaces are assigned in advance only. To inquire about reservations and availability, please email us at info@hellbenderavl.com.

  • PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: There are bus stops within walking distance of the venue, but please be aware that city buses do not run past 9pm. You can view all the bus routes here.

  • BIKE: Bicycle parking will be available. Motorcycles will need to use our paid lots or shuttle from the Asheville Mall.

  • WALK: If you live nearby and choose to walk, but use caution as there are little to no sidewalks leading to the venue.
